Το Athens English Comedy Club ιδρύθηκε το 2019 και είναι το πρώτο, και μοναδικό, εξ’ολοκλήρου Αγγλόφωνο comedy club στην Ελλάδα!
Από το 2019, το Athens English Comedy Club έχει παρουσιάσει παραστάσεις σταντ απ κόμεντι, open mic nights, διαδικτυακούς διαγωνισμούς, και workshops, με 109 ντόπιους και διεθνείς κωμικούς από 24 χώρες, στην καρδιά της Αθήνας.

Founded in 2019, the Athens English Comedy Club is the first, and only, purely English comedy club in Greece – bringing you local and international comedians, right in the heart of Athens – and it just turned FOUR!
In the last 4 years, the Athens English Comedy Club has hosted lineup shows, open mic shows, online competitions, and comedy workshops, with *109* local and international comedians from *24 countries*.

It’ll be a mix of everything. A potluck of comedy. Colourful, comedic, chaos! Experienced and new comedians trying out their best new jokes. Some of them will be good, some of them will be great, and some will never see the light of day again. It’s up to you!

About the MC:
Athina Kefalopoulos is an actress and stand up comedian, bilingual in English and Greek. She has been performing stand up since 2019 and has taken part in shows all over Athens, including the ’23 Athens Comedy Festival and the ’21 and ’22 Athens Pride Festivals.
She grew up in Russia, Norway, and Scotland, and loves winter and boots (and will never miss an opportunity to let you know that). She started working in theater while studying Sociology at the University of Edinburgh, which is where she realized that what gives her the most joy in life is art and electric blankets.
Athina is the founder of the Athens English Comedy Club (which she proudly thinks of as her firstborn and which is now in its ferocious fours!)
Currently, Athina also co-hosts the cinema podcast ‘Santzala Mantzala’ (in Greek) with fellow comedian Jim Botsas.
Lefteris Koulonis is a comedian based in Athens, and he’s been very busy trying on different identities as if they’re clothes, trying to see what fits. From creative writing to acting, classical drawing to graphic design, with even a stint as a waiter, clown, and (believe it or not) a naked model – he’s worn more hats than a bald guy in denial.
In his quest for self-discovery, Lefteris landed in PR and the strange world of communication, managed more social media accounts than is healthy and ended in the wild world of digital marketing. What does all that make him other than a person with a strong identity crisis?
In 2019, at an age when most folks have midlife crises, Lefteris decided to give stand-up comedy a shot, and he’s been having the time of his life ever since. He had his jokes hand-picked by Judy Carter (yes, the Comedy Bible author!) during one of her online seminars, he has performed all over Athens in bars and parking lots, and then he found a safe space in SNAP, the Athens Queer Comedy Club, which recently made an appearance on Nicky Doll’s show, ‘Les Voyages de Nicky’ on France TV.
If you’re looking for a comedian who’s tried on more identities than Lady Gaga has outfits, Lefteris is your guy. Beware, though, he doesn’t have much of a fashion sense; he’s never spent time in the closet!
